My Pink Stamper Design Team Call

Robyn, My Pink Stamper, has issued the call for her August-January design team.

Here's the rules for this entry:

Challenge:  Make a card, scrapbook page, or other Cricut project with your favorite Cricut cartridge using the following colors......

Orange
Turquoise
Green
Brown
(other optional color of your choice)

Here are my supplies:
I LOVE my Cindy Loo cartridge.  I didn't think I would like it THIS much when I bought it, but surprise, surprise!  I also fell in love with using tulle, thanks to one of Robyn's DVDs.  Add the colored paper, a couple of cute black and white photos,  and I was ready to create!

I have to be honest, it rattled my brain to try and coordinate these colors, but hey, that's what a challenge is all about!  Once I started creating, the colors just flowed together.

RECIPE:

12 x 12 Brown scrapbook paper for the base background.
Turquoise background was cut from Cindy Loo using "fit to page" which cut it at 11".
Tree was cut from Cindy Loo at 11" but I could have used "fit to page".
Mushroom was cut from Cindy Loo at 3".
Orange matte is 6.25 x 4.25
Patterned matte is 6.5 x 4.5
Butterflies are Recollection from Michael's.
I pop-dotted the tree and one photo up to add dimension.
I thought it was missing something so I added the mushroom (to be a little more boyish).
I hated to cover the beautiful tree completely with my pictures, so I thought outside of the box.  I put the limbs ON TOP of my picture. (this is where you can gasp in shock)  I thought it turned out PERFECT!  I may do that more often...
Funny how the turquoise background sort of looks like the sky with the tree and everything with it.

Thanks for this challenge, Robyn!  I'm pretty proud of how it turned out.  Good luck to all the entries! =)

Stepping out of my box card

Okay, I've stepped out of my box for this one!  Have you ever had a vision but it didn't turn out like you thought it would?  Well that was me on this card!

I was trying to make a different baby girl card by using the frames on my Cindy Loo cartridge.  I was also wanting to use some tulle for the first time.

Well, I think it turned out cute, but not really for a baby.  I may save this one for a teenage girl.  Maybe a birthday or graduation card.  I'll add the sentiment when I decide. LOL!  So much for my vision turning out baby'ish. LOL!

Congratulations Deer Card

I made this for a baby gift.  I had another idea but it didn't work out so I cut the deer from the Cindy Loo cartridge.  The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper Family & Friends stamp set.  I hope she likes it.
