Pink Umbrella Card

For my LAST baby card I decided to go along with the color theme of the shower.  Therefore, I'll use this card the one for my gift.

I cut the umbrella from the Celebrate with Flourish lite cartridge.  I used my irock fro some bling at the top of the umbrella.  I embossed the background with a new embossing folder called "bubbles".  I then added some flowers with bling for more girly effect.  I think it turned out SUPER cute!! :)

"Sweetie Pie" Card

This card just came together, in my head, in seconds!  I was digging through my paper stacks and I found this paper from my Sweet Treats stack I've had for a while.  I instantly thought of My Pink Stamper stamp "Sweetie Pie".  I thought it went great for a baby girl.  I then thought of the pink boa I had and thought it looked like cotton candy.  I also used my irock to add some bling around the sentiment.  This one turned out simply "sweet". :)

It's A Girl Card

Like I said earlier, I have 5 baby cards to make for presents for a shower this weekend!  I have a boy so I'm not really good at the girly things!  I've racked my brain for ideas.  I came up with some really cute cards last night and here's one of them.

I cut the baby icons from a paper pack called Sweet Pea (I think) but I don't know who's pack.  I know I bought it at Hobby Lobby!  I then added some pink ribbon and an It's A Girl ribbon for my sentiment.  I think it turned out really precious!

Stepping out of my box card

Okay, I've stepped out of my box for this one!  Have you ever had a vision but it didn't turn out like you thought it would?  Well that was me on this card!

I was trying to make a different baby girl card by using the frames on my Cindy Loo cartridge.  I was also wanting to use some tulle for the first time.

Well, I think it turned out cute, but not really for a baby.  I may save this one for a teenage girl.  Maybe a birthday or graduation card.  I'll add the sentiment when I decide. LOL!  So much for my vision turning out baby'ish. LOL!

Baby Shower Treat Box

I found these adorable treat boxes at Hobby Lobby for $1.50 each!!  I added some ribbon to tie in our color theme and "poof" they are ready to be stuffed with goodies!

These treat boxes are for the winners of the baby shower games!!  We stuffed them with travel sized bath goodies from Bath & Body Works!  I think they turned out fabulous!!

Baby Girl Card

I made this for another baby gift.  I have 3 more to make!  Everyone around me seems to be having babies! =) I cut the cutesy girl outfit from the New Arrivals cartridge.  The blingy flower was an embellishment I found at Hobby Lobby last year.  I'm sure she'll love it!

Congratulations Deer Card

I made this for a baby gift.  I had another idea but it didn't work out so I cut the deer from the Cindy Loo cartridge.  The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper Family & Friends stamp set.  I hope she likes it.

"Thinking Of You" Card

I made this card for a friend that is going through a very difficult time.  I was up all night Monday thinking of her, and so I went to my craft room at midnight and started creating!  I found these Recollection flowers on clearance at Michael's last year.  I was needing to be quiet because EVERYONE was asleep, so I didn't want to start up my cricut and search for paper. (my craft room is next door to my son's room)  So I used the flowers for inspiration.

She has returned back to work, yet, but I hope she loves it!!

Valentine's Treat Bags

I made these treat bags for the kiddos at my son's preschool.  I had to stuff 50 little bags with a splint on my hand, it was a challenge! LOL!

I purchased the new conversational hearts embossing folder for cuttlebug last week and couldn't wait to use it!  It was my inspiration for these treat bags.  My mother bought me these adorable foam conversational heart stickers from a local fabric store.  I was set!

I thought they turned out adorable.  I will find out soon if the kiddos liked them, but I'm sure they did! :)

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!

Teachers' Valentine's Treat Boxes

I needed to make 8 treat boxes for my son's teachers for his Valentine Party at school.  It just so happened that Robyn, My Pink Stamper, issued a challenge.  Her challenge was to use the color black along with your favorite color.  I had to be creative due to the lack of use in my injured hand.  My favorite color is pink so I started thinking Valentines!

My original idea was to make a BIG treat box and pack it full.  Since I didn't have much time and was handicapped I toned it down.  I found these little Chinese takeout boxes on clearance in the bridal section of Hobby Lobby last year.  I stuffed them with Hershey Kisses and Snickers.  I think glued a box of Sweathearts to the bottom.  Then I started thinking black and pink:

I need to tie the Sweathearts to the takeout boxes to insure that they stayed.  So, I took pink and black ribbon to tie a bow at the top.  I then punched out a lot of little hearts:

I took My Pink Stamper Love-alicious stampset and added the sentiment.  I then glued the heart to the top of the box.

I hope they love them because I think they turned out super cute!

Correction on the Baby Shower Thank You Cards

I decided to make a few changes on the matching Thank You cards for the mommy-to-be.  The original cards were landscaped and had the initial B on the front.  I decided to change that up a little:

I turned it portrait orientation due to the saving of ribbon (I'm spending a small fortune on ribbon lately).  I added the black dots around the scalloped circle for decorative effect.  Finally, I changed the initial to a W for the family's last name.  Therefore, if she has cards left over she can use them for something other than a baby gift.

I then used MORE ribbon (LOL) to bundle them up in a nice little package:

She LOVED them! =)

Baby Shower "Kit-Kat" Favors

I can't remember where I saw this idea, but I fell in love instantly!  For the baby shower party favors, I covered a Kit-Kat bar with black cardstock.  I then wrapped it with pink polka dot and zebra print ribbon.  Those are the colors of the new baby's room and the theme of the shower.

I then thought, well they are awfully cute but will people know they are Kit-Kats that can be EATEN!?!  So I came up with the saying that went along with Kit-Kat's theme:

I used my 3/4" circle punch to punch around the saying.  Then I cut the zebra circle at 1" and the pink circle at 1 1/4" both from the Mini Monograms cartridge.

It was hard tying all those knots with my injured hand, but I'm so glad those are DONE!

Now, on to more crafting and some Thank You cards!

Crafting Handicap :(

Okay, this is kind of a funny story.  We have been snowed in here for about 4 days.  I have a 3 1/2 year old so we need to get creative when it comes to entertaining him for that long.

We have wood floors throughout our house.  Therefore, he is not allowed to keep his socks on just in case he slips and falls.  This is very important because he RUNS everywhere!

The first night of the storm, we were going to have a race to his bed at bedtime.  Him and Daddy ALWAYS race but this night Mommy was going to join.  Well, Mommy had socks on, and she slipped and fell HARD next to his bed.  I tried to hide the tears until after he was in bed and I was out of the room.  We were afraid I broke my wrist but luckily that wasn't the case.  I had to take my husband to the doctor, because he had pneumonia, a couple of days after the fall.  Well, I had the doctor check out my arm because it was STILL hurting.  Sure enough, I pinch and possibly bruised some nerves in my wrist and that's the reason for the pain and the loss of strength in my fingers.  Therefore, the doctor put me in this:

Let me just say this puts a real damper on my crafting!  Since I have no strength in my fingers, I have incredible difficulty tying a bow!  Did I mention that this weekend I needed to make 50 treat bags for kids at my son's school and 8 gift boxes for his teachers!  Not to mention that I have a baby shower in 2 weeks that I am trying to get ready for.  That means I had 35 party favors to make and matching Thank You cards for the mommy-to-be.  UGH! This came at the WORST time!

LOL, but it is a funny story!  Thanks for letting me vent...

"Make A Wish" Birthday Card

Another card for the same co-worker! (she keeps me busy this time of year)  This one was a birthday card for her son.  He is turning 12 and LOVES playing video games.  I bought the Wrap It Up cartridge on Black Friday but haven't been able to use it, yet.  Until NOW, that is!

I cut the controller at 2" and I used one of my new Tim Holtz Grunge embossing folders.  I hope he likes it!

Deepest Sympathy Card

I made this sympathy card for the same co-worker as the football valentine.  This was for her aunt who is blind.  Therefore, she wanted the card to be very 3Dish.

I cut the birdbath from 3 Birds On Parade cartridge, which is a new cartridge for me.  I then added rhinestones to symbolize a fountain effect.  I added prima flowers with rhinestones for more color.  Finally, I covered the water in the bath with stickles for texture and shimmer of the glitter.

Football Valentine

I made this card for a co-worker of mine.  Her husband is a football coach so she wanted something football related.  Just her luck, I just received my Sports Mania cartridge!  I LOVE the background option of this cartridge.  The football field background was my first choice for this card and I built the rest from there.

My Pink Stamper's Love-alicious stamp set was used for the sentiment.  I thought the "you+me=love" looked like something out of a playbook.

She LOVED the card and I hope you do, too.
